The Position

We are seeking a Café Manager to be part of the team based at the David Jones Café within the Carindale Westfield Shopping Centre. The role of Café Manager exists to provide the operational leadership that delivers sustainable results by exceeding consumer and client expectations.

Our ideal candidate will;

  • Provide leadership and management to support a small yet experienced team
  • Previous supervisory/management knowledge looking for the next step up
  • Able to build client, customer and other stakeholder relationships efficiently
  • Understand QLD Food Safety Requirements thoroughly
  • Work to ensure budget targets are met; help identify opportunities to deliver best in class service output
  • Monitor and ensure food quality, service standards & initiatives, food & workplace safety, management systems, processes & procedures are implemented, measured and maintained to the highest standards.
  • Foster an environment of innovation; challenging norms and stimulating your team to deliver evolving food services to enthuse clients and employees
  • Attract, develop and retain the best talent in the industry through continuous improvement and training as well as actively developing and executing strategies to reduce labour turnover.

The Person we need will have;

  • Strong commercial acumen gained from within the relevant sector
  • Previous managerial experience in the industry, with a passion for hospitality is essential
  • Excellent communication and personal skills well suited to continue the partnership with existing clients
  • Strong and decisive leadership skills with ability to build an effective and engaged team
  • Strong financial and analytical skills in interpreting budgets and forecasting to ensure a sustainable & profitable business.
  • Ability to work independently with general direction from leadership
