The Position:

We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic health, fitness and lifestyle professional, qualified in physiotherapy to work at one of our remote village sites in Western Australia.  The successful candidate will be joining an organisation that is an industry forerunner in the field of remote health and lifestyle services.

Our Activelife program is recognised worldwide and links all the elements of healthy eating, education, exercise, injury management and lifestyle activities to give a holistic approach to ensure residents mental and physical wellbeing.

Key Duties:

  • The ability to implement and assist in the coordination of company-wide health, fitness and wellbeing strategies and initiatives.
  • Provide physiotherapy duties including, but not limited to
    • Immediate injury management
    • Injury prevention initiatives
    • Job capacity and task analysis
    • Initial diagnosis and prognosis on resident musculoskeletal injuries
    • On-site treatment
    • Provision of injury rehabilitation programs
    • Advise management on Return to Work plans
    • Liaison with other health services on and off site.
  • Coordinate and write the weekly news & health promotion bulletin
  • Promote and conduct a weekly village event
  • Conduct Health Assessments and Gym Inductions for residents as and when required
  • Conduct the daily fitness class for residents as and when required
  • Provide educational seminars for residents and ESS staff
  • Ensure compliance with our company nutrition guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with company reporting obligations

The Person:

Key Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work a FIFO roster
  • Demonstrate a pro-active, well organised approach to work independently
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills
  • Passion for physical and mental wellbeing
  • High level focus on customer service and engagement

Essential Criteria: 

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • Registration with the APA
  • Minimum twelve (12) months experience working within physiotherapy industry
  • Australian manual drivers licence

Highly Desirable:  

  • Safe Pool Operations qualifications
  • Group fitness qualifications
  • Yoga or Pilates qualification
  • Events co-ordination and health promotion background
