The Position

Based at Santa Maria College, you will become one of the faces of the business, overseeing and maintaining service standards along with the rest of the team.

Reporting to the Chef Manager, the successful candidate will bring their ideas and demonstrate strength in creating culinary benchmarks in modern flavours, presentation and local produce. Some overtime may be required to cover functions. These positions offer a great Work - Life balance and outstanding working environments.

 

Key Duties 

  • Manage and maintain the cleanliness standards of the restaurant prior to opening and closing.
  • Ensuring that excellent levels of service are being delivered to the customers during service
  • Ensuring that all equipment used is in safe working order, checked regularly and any faults reported to management, ensure equipment is not used until safe
  • Comply with all Compass Group Company policies and procedures and client site rules and regulations
  • Cooking fresh daily to cater for Recess and Lunch, planning for the week ahead and minimising wastage.  Ensure the safe production of a quality product without compromise to the food safety guidelines provided.

 

The Person

  • Chef Trade Qualification
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food preparation and presentation
  • A passion for producing great food and full understanding of OHS, Hygiene & HACCP regulation
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Good financial awareness
  • Excel in good customer service skills
  • Amazing organisational skills and be a proactive team player
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety issues required
