THE POSITION

Reporting to the National Human Resources and Risk Manager, this role works collaboratively with the Executive Director/General Managers – Operations, Offshore & Remote, to drive on going and sustainable improvement in our safety performance.  Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide specialist technical advice and coaching resources to the operations and shared services teams 
  • Lead a team of safety professionals aligned with Our Safety Culture by developing and maintaining a safety leadership program across all levels of the business 
  • Drive compliance to the food safety programs and procedures to ensure the highest standard of food integrity to our customers
  • Assist in the investigation of incidents to drive a rigorous approach to root cause identification and close out of corrective actions 
  • Oversee the audit compliance to the Compass Group standards and HSEQ Management System
  • Support and maintain company certification to Australian and International standards in accordance with the external HSEQ audit program
  • Interact with clients to demonstrate to them how the company’s operations and programs effectively manage their risk and add commercial value
  • Interstate travel will be required for this role
  • This role is based in Perth 

  THE PERSON

Minimum of 10 years track record in leading and improving safe operations preferably in Catering & Support Services including a demonstrated capability in influencing senior leaders of the business to implement the company’s HSEQ standards and procedures down the line;

  • Demonstrated experience implementing and monitoring HSEQ programs in a Catering & Support Services environment;
  • Evidence of influencing skills and experience and demonstration of developing strong relationships across a range of organisational levels;
  • Detailed knowledge of applicable legislation;
  • Degree/Diploma in relevant field and/or Certificate IV Work Health and Safety;
  • Detailed knowledge of HACCP procedures;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, web-based software applications and a high level of computer literacy in general; and
  • Experience in managing inter-relationships across the company and stakeholders including clients and other relevant industry associations and bodies.
