We currently have a vacancy for a Chef Manager role at our education site based in The Sydney CBD area. Due to the nature of the site, weekend work is required and experience in functions highly advantageous.

This role reports directly into the state Operations Manager and will be responsible for leading and developing a motivated and inspired catering & front of house team.   We’re looking for a “Hospitality Superstar” who will focus on all catering management elements such as; quality menu design, food preparation and service, innovation, awareness of food trends and industry standards, knowledge of nutrition and customer service and satisfaction.

Our ideal candidate will be a qualified Chef, who has a hands-on approach in the kitchen but has operational experience of running a site. This is a salaried role offers a great work/life balance with only 40 weeks of operation, offering some “down time” throughout the rest of the year!

What your day may look like:

  • Responsible for the operational and financial performance of the site
  • HR administration duties such as rosters, people management, training and learning & development
  • Directing and leading the onsite catering team, building solid relationships with staff and he client
  • Provision of catering services across this business, maintaining great customer service and satisfaction levels at all times
  • Maintaining the focus on quality menu design, food preparation and innovation

A bit about you:

  • Proven experience in a “Catering Manager” role and/or Chef qualifications expected
  • A natural leader with a unique approach to education catering; bringing flair, warmth and outstanding cuisine
  • Experience in the delivery of high-end corporate style functions is imperative, as is your ability to navigate a team to success through leadership, training and safety compliance
  • An energetic, creative professional who will remain pragmatic and focused in an ever changing and challenging environment
  • The ability to foster close and positive working relationships with staff, key clients and customers is essential as are sound verbal and written communication skills
