Our Future Culinary Leaders Program is now accepting applications!

Our Future Culinary Leaders Program has been designed specifically for our FIFO (Fly-In/Out) / DIDO (Drive-In/Out) employees and has been successfully running for several years now. The training is delivered onsite in our own kitchens or at a designated TAFE campus. You will train with your peers from other sites within your state and work towards gaining a nationally recognised trade qualification, a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, and join them on a journey to becoming our future culinary leaders.

apprenticeshipYou’ll work hard whilst at site but when you’re home, your time is yours – our Apprentice Chefs generally work a 14/7 swing (14 days on/7 days off)

apprenticeshipAccommodation & food supplied (at no cost to you) whilst on site

apprenticeshipFull uniform and “starter” professional knife kit (with personalised roll bag) on commencement of Apprenticeship

In some cases, due to either previous study or work experience, you may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) where qualifications can be awarded without having to attend and complete a full training course.

Meet Lisa and Nate

This amazing mother and son duo are going through their Apprenticeship journey together. Lisa joined our ESS remote team over three years ago. She's always had a love of cooking and didn't hesitate to apply to the Chef training program. “I was so excited when I got accepted. It has been an amazing journey and I am really enjoying the experience of working with a lot of different chefs.”

Her son, Nate, wanted a change in career and always had an interest in food thanks to his mum! He applied for the same program as Lisa and is half way through his first year. He’s excited about his future with the company and “can’t wait to see what’s to come.” “I know my mum has experienced the apprenticeship and it’s great to know I have a mentor I can confide in. I feel comfortable knowing I can go to her for guidance and support.”
