Based in our Perth office, we are currently seeking a Financial Accountant to assume responsibility for the end of month and year end accounting for Compass Group Australia. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your knowledge and launch a long-term career in finance. Joining a collaborative team environment, you will enjoy a role that is a mix of routine activities, ad hoc queries and ongoing projects

A bit about your new role:

  • Process month-end and year-end journals and reconcile monthly accounts
  • Assist in preparation of the audit file with supporting documents
  • Assist with preparation of financial reports for external stake holders
  • Liaising with Global Head office to maintain lease accounting as per AASB16
  • Managing monthly reconciliations of accounts, in collaboration with the outsourced finance team  
  • Ability to grasp and understand supporting/ sub ledger IT systems and how it interacts with the PL
  • Identifying and communicate opportunities for improvement & process streamlining 
  • Other administrative duties as directed by the Financial Controller & Finance Manager.

 A bit about you:

  • Accounting degree qualified with 3+ year experience in similar role or from audit
  • Sound Knowledge of financial accounting and Australian Accounting Standards
  • Sound technical and analytical skills
  • Ability to problem solve, prioritise and multi-task
  • Intermediate skill level on Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external Stakeholders at all levels
  • Positive 'can-do' attitude, who can work autonomously in a team environment
