We are recruiting for Apprentice Chefs in our ESS Support Services business – you’ll step into a Fly-in/Fly-out (FIFO) or Drive-in/Drive-out (DIDO) role in WA. You’ll be based at one of our remote regional sites in WA and we encourage applicants from all over the state,

What we’re offering

• An established, tailored training program for our FIFO/DIDO team members
• Working with TAFE you may have a blended training delivery in our kitchens & on campus
• Dedicated training sessions (5-day blocks throughout the year) with our partner Culinary Education Providers (TAFE) – all coordinated and paid for by ESS
• Online learning modules and assessments form part of the study program (study time will be allocated at site but expect to top this up with your own private study time) 
• You will ordinarily work a 14/7 swing (14 days on/7 days off)
• Meals, accommodation, uniforms, and Chef equipment will be supplied by ESS
• *If working FIFO, all flights to & from site are provided by ESS

A bit about you

• We’d expect you to have a genuine interest in all things culinary and be a real “foodie”!
• You enjoy the idea of working remotely and are committed to a three-year chef apprenticeship – and an on-going role as a qualified FIFO Chef with ESS
• You can work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• You are reliable, hardworking, resilient and follow instructions
• You have the capacity & willingness to commit to additional study outside of work hours
• You are an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Drivers Licence - manual license is preferable)

• You will be trained and mentored by an exceptional team of highly qualified chefs who have developed their passion for food all over the world
• You will be exposed to cooking in Production Kitchens, along with Functions and Retail, learning the skills and techniques to deliver high quality food across a variety of styles of cuisine
• You’ll obtain a nationally recognised trade qualification, a Certificate III Commercial Cookery
