We currently have a number of casual opportunities for Catering Assistants to join our hospital team based in Waratah. Previous catering or similar experience, flexibility and ability to work in a fast paced environment with knowledge of food preparation and food safety is desirable however we are very willing to train interested candidates new to the industry. 

THE POSITION

• Assist in preparing and presenting patient meals
• Meal delivery to wards and collection
• Demonstrate adaptability by taking on various tasks and responsibilities as needed
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organisation 
• Following all Food and Safety procedures

THE PERSON

• Previous hospital and/or aged care Catering Assistant experience or the genuine desire to learn
• Ability and desire to work within the site based Mental Health Centre
• Ability to prepare and serve food items in accordance with strict food safety guidelines 
• Ability to work unsupervised (following site based training) 
• Personable, a team player who has exceptional communication skills
• Commitment to respond to customer requests in a timely and friendly manner
• Well developed interpersonal and communication skills
• A discreet and respectful manner
• High level of personal presentation and hygiene
• Flexibility to work shifts during the weekdays and weekends
