The Role:

We are seeking a Catering and Conference Coordinator to join our team onsite at one of the most reputable multinational investment bank and financial services company based in the Sydney CBD. 

This role is responsible for the successful coordination and event planning of functions, including initial enquiries, client (internal and external) liaison dining operations whilst delivering the highest level of customer service. A busy year-round venue hosting a wide range of functions and events.  The successful candidate will have a passion for the hospitality and events industry, Additionally, the role may be required to offer administration support to the site’s management team.  Adherence to Our Safety Culture framework is expected.

Key Duties

  • Client management, event planning and operational set up to deliver successful functions
  • Conduct site inspections, client follow-ups and liaison, creating detailed event orders, floorplans and invoicing 
  • Work co-operatively with operations and kitchen teams in regard to handing over functions to ensure seamless delivery
  • Conduct follow-up correspondence with clients and respond to feedback
  • Working directly with preferred suppliers where required  
  • Provide a warm, friendly and welcoming service to customers and clients

The Person

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a function venue or similar environment
  • Experience within the catering or hospitality industry 
  • Desire to be hands on team player
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritise tasks
  • Proficiency in event management software or strong IT skill

In line with the required legislation, a valid and current national criminal record check will be required as part of the standard recruitment and selection process for this position.
