The Position

We are currently seeking a Casual Catering Assistant to join our team at the Royal Eye and Ear Hospital.

This position is a multi-faceted position and requires a hands-on approach to the food service delivery in the kitchen and dining room, as well as light cleaning duties through the facilities. We are looking for someone with solid coffee skills and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities will also include: 

  • Food preparation with knowledge of food allergens is preferred
  • Resident engagement
  • Ensuring to follow all health and safety procedures when caring out all tasks
  • Any other ad hoc duties as required by our fantastic Chefs and Management
  • Operating a commercial dishwasher to a high standard
  • Assist with general kitchen duties under the direction of the Site Manager

To be successful in the role you will need: 

  • Demonstrated customer service skills with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of commercial kitchen operations
  • Attention to detail as well as flexibility to move from one task to another
  • Previous experience in catering, front of house and cleaning is highly desirable but not essential
  • Flexibility to work across a Monday - Sunday
