Catering Assistant – Aged Care Residential Services

As an essential services worker your role will be vital, and we’d love for you to be part of the team.  We are currently seeking a Catering Assistant to work within our Koh I Noor team based in Wembley. The catering assistant is a varied role, which will see you operate within kitchen operations, customer service and interaction with residents.

Key responsibilities will also include: 

  • Assisting the Chef in food preparation including
  • Salad bar and vegetable preparation
  • Use of commercial equipment
  • Stock delivery, rotation and storage
  • Documenting food safety and compliance
  • Delivery of food and drink service to the residents

To be successful in the role you will need: 

  • We take pride in offering our residents the best possible service therefore its essential you have a caring and compassionate nature
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of commercial kitchen operations
  • Attention to detail as well as flexibility to move from one task to another
  • Previous experience in catering, front of house is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Have or willing to obtain a valid police check and influenza vaccination inline with current legislation.

You'll also need to:

  • In line with the required legislation, a valid and current police clearance and influenza vaccination (or be prepared to acquire).
  • From 17th September 2021 it is a legislative requirement for all aged care workers to be fully vaccinated against COVID 19.
