ESS provides a home away from home for people working in remote mining villages and offshore on oil rigs. We provide the hospitality solutions to ensure all guests are getting the comforts of home even in isolated locations.

The position

We are currently looking for a Chef Manager to join our team at ESS supporting the operations at The Provedore in Port Hedland.

You'll be at the forefront of the ESS workforce and will be the key to providing high quality and nutritious food to our clients and customers. 

This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity with real benefits, offering a full-time position working a 5:2 roster from 7am to 2pm daily. You will have the opportunity to work in all aspects of food preparation & service while leading a strong team of hospitality professionals. 

Key Duties

  • Manage & lead the running of all aspects of the kitchen
  • Deliver to a high expectation of a premium experience
  • Take responsibility for ordering and stock control
  • Follow company health, safety and security procedures at all times
  • Lead, manage and motivate a team of chefs and hospitality professionals 
  • Customer and client relations
  • Team building

 The Person

  • Experience across a variety of industries
  • Creating and executing culinary offers across a variety of different outlets
  • Manage & lead the running of the kitchen, food preparation & cooking
  • Observation of and implementation of allergy awareness controls
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Function and menu development skills essential
  • Microsoft Office proficient
  • Passionate about delivering world class customer service
  • Excellent work ethic with great communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a professional manner
  • Previous experience managing a medium to large venue with knowledge of both culinary and hospitality services
  • Exceptional communication and relationship building abilities
  • Maintain a positive team culture
  • Experience with financial reporting and be commercial and contract focused
  • Demonstrated background of delivering profitable business results
  • Ability to drive stakeholder engagement and deliver superior service levels
  • Display excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong negotiation, problem solving and decision-making skills whilst thinking on your feet
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety, a strong commitment to safety to ensure targets are safely achieved
  • Sound Knowledge of HACCP
  • Ability to adapt quickly to ongoing business needs
