The Position

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Chef who has a particular interest or passion about healthy eating for infants & young children. Based at our client site in Lane Cove, you'll join our team looking after the onsite catering in the Early Learning Centre of a prestigious independent school for boys. The Early Learning Centre actually caters for both boys & girls and you'll be looking after approximately 80 children including babies as young as 6 weeks old up to aged 5.

Your daily duties:

• Ensuring food preparation, cooking and presentation is to a high standard
• Take ownership and actively contribute to the quality of food preparation and service
• Establish and maintain a safe and secure workplace
• Clean and maintain kitchen premises
• Apply catering control principles

A bit about you:

• Experience cooking within a commercial kitchen – childcare understanding and knowledge of early learning kitchens is a requirement
• Good knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
• Motivated by a passion for quality and great service delivery
• Desire to learn and grow
• Can-do attitude
• Current drivers' licence as there will be a requirement to drive site vehicles
• Be truly passionate about nutrition & healthy eating for children
• Proven allergen awareness/training is essential
