We’re pleased to invite expressions of interest for a range of exciting Cleaners roles at Frankston Hospital. These roles are vital to the smooth and safe operation of the hospital and offer a chance to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Compass Group Australia will deliver essential support services at the Peninsula University Hospital, one of Victoria’s largest health infrastructure projects. We will provide vital services, including, cleaning and waste services, security, grounds and gardens and more. As a public hospital with clinical services provided by Peninsula Health, this facility will play a key role in supporting the community be part of something bigger and help shape the future of healthcare in Victoria.
Role Responsibilities
- Clean patient rooms, theatres, offices, restrooms, and public areas to maintain high hygiene standards
- Clean patient rooms post-discharge.
- Use approved disinfectants, sanitise high-touch surfaces, and follow infection control protocols
- Perform deep cleans in high-risk areas and handle biohazardous waste safely
- Safely operate specialised cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and carpet cleaners.
- Operate, maintain, and check cleaning equipment and report faults or hazards
- Safely segregate and dispose of general and hazardous waste
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies; maintain accurate inventory records
- Follow all OH&S and hospital safety protocols, using PPE as required
- Collaborate with staff, attend training, and assist with onboarding of new cleaners
- Maintain professional conduct and support continuous improvement in cleaning standards
Experience and Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial or healthcare cleaning is preferred
- Knowledge of safe chemical handling and cleaning practices
- Understanding of infection prevention and control procedures
- Valid Police Check and Working with Children Check (employee version), or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to utilise smart devices daily to manage and monitor daily cleaning task in role
- Covid Vaccination x 3 and up to date Flu vaccinations
- Serology requirements signed off by GP

- Understand and follow hospital infection control protocols and adhere to workplace safety regulations and use cleaning chemicals and equipment correctly.
