Restaurant Associates are a team of world class hospitality and fine-cuisine professionals, delivering contemporary food solutions and service across leading corporations and iconic venues all across Australia.

This role is responsible for the successful managing and event planning of functions, including initial enquiries, client (internal and external) liaison dining operations whilst delivering the highest level of customer service Nationally and in New Zealand (Wellington & Auckland) This busy role will see you organising and in hosting a wide range of events across Australia, so some interstate and international travel will be required. The successful candidate will have a true passion for the hospitality and events industry - additionally, the role may be required to offer management support to the site’s operations team.  Adherence to Our Safety Culture framework is expected.

Key Duties

• Client management, event planning and operational set up to deliver successful functions
• Conduct regular site inspections, client follow-ups and liaison, creating detailed event orders, floorplans and invoicing 
• Work co-operatively with the rest of the operations and kitchen teams in regard to handing over functions to ensure seamless delivery
• Consistently re-evaluate working practices in terms of efficiency, innovation and cost cutting procedures and seek out and implement new practices where required
• Invest in relationships with industry peers and colleagues to ensure best practice methods are applied and the team is up to date with industry/global trends
• Provide strong leadership and guidance to the team and drive for success 

The Person

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Senior Events Management role 
• Experience managing high calibre of events, functions and galas
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage a budget
• Desire to be hands on leader that motivates their team
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to identify contract retention and new business opportunities
• Ability to form productive relationships with Clients and individuals from diverse backgrounds
