The Position

We are currently looking for a Food Safety Coach to join our WAIO portfolio. Reporting to our National Health and Safety team, this role will see you work in collaboration with our Site Managers & their teams with a focus on providing support on our remote sites in all aspects of food Safety. This position is a FIFO role from Perth. Roster is negotiable for the right person!

Key Duties:

  • The mentoring & coaching of food standards, operating concepts, and programs to ensure compliance within the business.
  • Support the business mentoring team in understanding the operational capability (and parameters) of existing culinary operations.
  • Ensure that all culinary submissions meet the agreed standards of quality, safety and performance are consistently observed and business is managed commercially in line with the compass Food Safety Handbook.
  • Coach the catering teams to ensure the delivery of best value quality services, effective forward planning, meeting of objectives, management of priorities and the appropriate delegation of responsibilities.
  • Asses and review each site in order to adapt the require coaching and mentoring require at the time of assessment (as a group / individual).
  • Coaching catering team to follow the process of temperature monitoring process (end point, cool down and hot/cold holding monitoring).
  • Coaching catering team the importance of allergen declaration as part of the daily operation to all team members onsite (chefs, management and HSEQ). The importance of where to locate the information in regarding to allergen declaration and why do we declare all allergens onsite.
  • Coaching and mentoring in traceability of records for all breakfast, crib, dinner, and market & co.
  • Coaching and mentoring the cleaning & sanitising process.
  • Understand the HACCP philosophy as per Food Safety Management Plan.
  • Mentoring and coaching new workers in catering department to ensure they understand their responsibility in following all procedures as per Food Safety Handbook.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in spotting and developing in-unit culinary talent
  • Support the F&B team in developing culinary capability and engagement of the Chefs and creation of culinary networks such as Chef Forums and culinary competitions. Coach the network of Chefs across the sectors to collaboratively develop recipes and menus, and to build capability to ensure a high standard across this population.
  • Model and drive a culture of open communication at all levels to create an environment where employees to site level are engaged in business objectives and activities.
  • Deliver training in a group manner if require in regard to day to day kitchen activities.
