Compass Group is looking for a passionate and experienced food waste reduction champion. As part of our commitment to net zero emissions by 2050, we are focussing on reducing food waste across our diverse operations in Australia, covering 600+ locations.
The Position
- Driving continuous improvement in food waste reduction across the company, enabling knowledge sharing between locations.
- Mobilising food waste management solutions to new sites and training front of house staff
- Maintaining the central food waste reduction system and ensuring compliance across locations
- Leasing with a variety of stakeholders at a corporate and site level for analytics, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Developing initiatives to drive reduction in food waste
- Analysis of food waste data and creation of accessible presentations and recommendations to the business (kitchen staff and site management)
- Some travel will be required in the first year, diminishing in subsequent years
The Person
- Experience as a Head Chef or a senior back of house Hospitality Manager
- Strong people skills are essential – you will work with all levels of organisation, across diverse geographies and contractual arrangements
- Experience in menu planning
- Basic understanding of business analytics, financial literacy and openness to new learning
- Experience in food waste reduction and management
- Digital literacy, especially with MS Excel and openness to learning and using multiple digital platforms as part of everyday work.
