The Position
We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Head Chef to join our team at our remote village in the Cooper Basin in South Australia. This position requires proven catering management experience within a high-volume environment. As Head Chef you will be required to directly manage the catering team, monitor, and maintain quality / HACCP, ordering and ensure we deliver high quality catering and support services to our client. Your passion for exceptional customer service, genuine commitment to safety and strong people management skills are essential for you to succeed in this role.
This position will manage a team of dedicated Chefs working on a 14 day on 7 day off roster across 10 hours a day.
The Person
You’ll be perfect for this role if you have:
- Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- Previous Head Chef experience in a similar industry
- The ability to manage and lead the running of all aspects of the kitchen
- Remote Camp Catering/Bulk Catering experience highly desirable
- A sound understanding of all kitchen operations
- Strong food safety and general safety focus
- Strong IT skills proficient knowledge of ordering and stock control systems
