About ESS:

ESS provides a home away from home for people working in remote mining villages and offshore on oil rigs. We provide the hospitality solutions to ensure all guests are getting the comforts of home even in isolated locations.

ESS manages all aspects of large-scale accommodation facilities or “villages” for remote workers, providing the essential comforts such as a hot meal, a clean bed, freshly laundered workwear to health and wellness facilities for those working away from home.

The role:

You will be based on our site at Hail Creek on a drive-in/drive-out basis. Candidates from Mackay and surrounds are encouraged to apply.

Your role will consist of an array of tasks including but not limited to cleaning, laundry, housekeeping, assisting with food preparation or dishwashing, general maintenance of the site, waste removal and/or adhoc tasks.

This is a physically demanding role that will see you on your feet for up to 10-12 hours per day all whilst wearing your full PPE and battling with the elements.

 If you find a site you love, there is also the option to become a permanent employee and this is highly promoted within our company.

The person:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in hospitality or a similar field
  • The ability to work in extreme remote conditions
  • Team player and be flexible to work in all departments
  • Ability to follow safety policies and procedures at all times
  • Be physically fit and able to work 10-12 hour days
  • Time savvy and ability to meet deadlines
  • Current drivers licence and own transport
  • Flexible to changing shifts and rosters at short notice across a 24/7 rotational roster
  • Able to demonstrate Australian working rights
