The Position

We are currently seeking an experienced HR Advisor to support a group of remote WA sites on a 6-month fixed term contract, with strong potential for extension for the right person. Working closely with site-based leaders, you'll have the expertise and strategic mindset to provide localised HR/ER support, whilst driving Compass Group’s national HR initiatives throughout remote WA. Reporting to our National Manager of People and Safety, you'll be an integral part of a mature and innovative Operational and HR team.  This is a wonderful opportunity to advance your career in HR with a dynamic and industry leading business.

The Duties

With excellent communication skills, demonstrated ability to build solid relationships, and a strong focus on customer service, your role will involve the following key functions:

  • Providing advice and support to line managers on HR/IR/ER matters including performance management, remuneration, and HR policies & procedures
  • Working on a 5/2/4/3 roster travelling to different sites each week
  • Building on capabilities of line managers on engaging, developing, rewarding and retaining their employees
  • Assisting in the resolution of employee grievances
  • Rolling out HR initiatives, strategies and tools, and monitor compliance with industrial instruments and HR metrics
  • Collaborating with the broader HR team to ensure a seamless delivery to all stakeholders

The Person

You'll need to be a pragmatic HR generalist with solid experience within a fast-paced service business. In addition, the successful applicant will need;

  • Tertiary qualification in HR/IR/ER (or equivalent)
  • Cert IV in Workplace Assessment and Training desirable
  • Minimum 5 years HR experience
  • Exposure to FIFO desirable
  • High level of computer literacy and Microsoft office proficient
  • Problem solving skills with the ability to recognise opportunities for improvement
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a professional and positive approach when dealing with issues of a confidential, personal or difficult nature
  • Pro-active, well organised an autonomous natured
  • Experience in organisational and company culture development
  • Demonstrate a 'can-do' attitude
  • Keen to develop  skills within a challenging client-focused business
