This part time role will see you working across all sections of the kitchen. As a kitchen all-rounder you will preferably have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a commercial kitchen environment, a background in cooking / cold larder with an interest in gaining further knowledge around specialised dietary requirements. Working on a 2-week rotational hospital menu and reporting to the Culinary Manager, you will work across a variety of kitchen positions as well as leading a team of kitchen staff when required. The position will require availability on a rotating roster across 7 days. 

Key Duties:

• Manage and follow production sheets for each section
• Stock management, portion control, storage procedures and food wastage
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of Allergen Management, HACCP – Food Safety Standards and Cleaning Procedures
• Patient safety is a non- negotiable including 3-point ID checks and following site policies and procedures
• Competency in using the CAT phone and completing jobs in a timely manner
• Operating commercial dishwashers and commercial cleaning equipment
• Working across several areas including; production, larder, stores, Kitchenhand, and catering attendant.
• Willingness work in any position as per operational requirements

The Person:

• A passion for producing exceptionally high-quality foods and delivering exceptional service
• Fantastic Communication skills; both written and verbal
• Able to work independently and within a team, with excellent time management
• A positive attitude with a resilient nature.
• Food Safety Supervisor certificate is desirable
• Previous experience within a similar role within a Hospital environment.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and follow instructions

In line with the required Legislation, preference will be given to candidates that can provide a current Police Check, as well as evidence of Vaccine Preventable Diseases (Hepatitis B immunity - Measles, mumps, rubella - Chicken pox - Whooping cough - Tuberculosis Assessment)  You must also be vaccinated against COVID 19.
