Supporting our Senior Living clients in the best way possible, is at the heart of everything we do. We continually deliver exceptional food and service to those in our community who need it the most.

We are currently seeking a Kitchen Manager to work within our Kew Gardens team based in Kew. This role will take responsibility for leading the culinary team, high food safety compliance and ensuring high quality and consistent food is produced for a high-end aged care client. Our chefs deliver menus to residents, who expect fresh, nutritious, and diverse options that reflect person centred care and choice.

Key responsibilities will also include: 

  • Prepare daily meals for consumption in line with Medirest standards and client expectations.
  • Ensure all staff are providing consistent quality food and provide feedback to team members.
  • Coaching, training, and assisting your kitchen crew with all cooking related matters and procedures.
  • Working closely alongside the Front of House Manager to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Managing a team of 12-15 staffs and ensuring that all tasks are completed to its standards.

We are looking for exceptional talent, and the skills you will need are successful in the role you will need: 

  • Most importantly the ability to be innovative and creative
  • A Certificate III Commercial Cookery is a must
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive outlook and professional manner
  • A Flexible approach and attitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Hard working
  • Previous experience Cooking in a similar environment would be highly advantageous

You'll also need to: 

  • In line with the required legislation, a valid and current police clearance and influenza vaccination (or be prepared to acquire).
  • From 17th September 2021 it is a legislative requirement for all Senior Living workers to be fully vaccinated against COVID 19
