ESS Defence delivers the best hospitality and support services to Defence sites across Australia. From dining facilities to accommodation and recreation areas, our teams support Defence personnel by providing consistent, high quality food services that contribute to their wellbeing and daily operations.

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchenhand to join our team supporting the Australian Defence Force through our ESS business. You will play an important role in maintaining clean, safe and efficient kitchen operations within a structured Defence environment.

Role Location:
Kokoda Barracks, Canungra QLD

Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting with basic food preparation and kitchen duties
Maintaining clean and organised kitchen and back of house areas
Washing dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment
Supporting chefs and kitchen staff during meal service
Following food safety, hygiene and workplace procedures at all times

What we’re looking for:

Previous experience as a Kitchenhand or in a similar role preferred
Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Reliable with a strong work ethic and team focused attitude
Ability to work in a fast paced and structured environment
Good communication skills and a positive approach
Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check and Defence clearance
Australian Citizenship is a mandatory requirement for this position
