We are currently looking to appoint an experienced Catering Manager for our hospital site at Waratah. Reporting to the General Services Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of all aspects of the patient catering requirements throughout the hospital. This position requires a strong leader who is committed to building a high performance operation that delivers a superior service.

The successful applicant will have a minimum of five years management experience in either large scale catering, food manufacturing or operations experience within a highly regulated environment.

Essential Criteria:

  • Command of managing large teams and rostering staff
  • Demonstrated commitment to food safety and HACCP principles and/or other similar regulatory requirements
  • Highly developed leadership, people management and communication skills
  • Experience in implementing change management
  • Demonstrated process and continuous improvement management methodology
  • Proven inventory management ability
  • Competent financial and cost control expertise
  • Customer focused business approach
  • Strong commitment and understanding of WHS requirements
  • Ability to deliver against service standards and contractual KPIs


  • Tertiary education in a relevant discipline
  • Understanding of operational excellence principles
  • Knowledge of menu planning or bill of material manufacturing
  • Understanding of therapeutic diets and standards
  • Healthcare or related experience
