The Position

During a period of change, we are seeking applications for a National Leader of Safety Culture & Innovation working collaboratively with the Executive Directors & General Managers to drive ongoing and sustainable improvement in our safety performance. This role leads a team of safety professionals aligned with Our Safety Culture by developing and maintaining a safety leadership programme and approach across all levels of the business from team members at site to members of our Australian Leadership Team.  The National Safety Leader will provide specialist technical advice and coaching resources to the operations and shared services teams to assist in developing a culture characterised by care, respect and accountability for performance.

Reporting to the General Manager of Safety & Environment, this role works collaboratively with the Operational Leaders and your responsibilities will include:

  • Coaching senior leaders in their safety behaviours and programs to drive safe operational improvement
  • Developing a leadership program to support the simplification of our systems
  • Drive the implementation of our support apps and measure their success against business needs
  • Supporting and maintaining company certification to Australian and International standards in accordance with the external HSEQ audit programme
  • Reviewing, establishing and maintaining procedures for environmental management within the business that are closely aligned with the company’s accredited Environmental Management System
  • Interacting with clients to demonstrate to them how the company’s operations and programmes effectively enhance the management of their risk and add commercial value to their operations and business strategy

The Person

  • Demonstrated experience driing, implementing and monitoring cultural change in multi-service environment
  • Tertiary qualified in a relevant field
  • Experience in managing inter-relationships across stakeholders, clients and other relevant industry associations
  • Demonstrated capability in influencing key stakeholders to implement the company’s HSEQ standards and procedures
  • Detailed knowledge of applicable legislation and ISO standards
  • Detailed knowledge of HACCP procedures
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, web-based software applications and a high level of computer literacy in general
  • Experience in managing inter-relationships across the company and stakeholders including clients and other relevant industry associations and bodies.
