A Day in the Life

As Proposal Manager/Writer for our growing business, you will work closely with our Business Development and Innovation teams in developing compelling proposals that reflect the key messages of our customer focussed and competitive operational deliverables. Our business is all about tailored and innovative catering and support service solutions where creativity, presentation and trend forecasting play a key role. It is essential that this creative tone underpins our solutions and submissions and that this is relatable for you.

Working with this dynamic team, you will have a clear understanding of our client’s requirements and key win themes, the ability and expertise to create bids and proposals which clearly articulate winning solutions and be a team player ready to join a progressive and exciting business. Your main focus will be on the written and editorial aspects of bids, proposals and managing the bringing together of these documents in addition to creating other business development material. The role will see you working in a high-volume environment where short-turn arounds are necessary - so the creation of presentations, responding to unsolicited proposals and preparing for pitches will be nothing new to you.

Key Duties

  • Understanding key client drivers and associated bid strategies and articulating the solution in a clear, concise and compelling response, supported by evidence
  • Managing, leading and quality control of the bids / proposals process for those assigned to you
  • Developing forms, templates and collateral to streamline tender preparation and improve submission quality
  • Developing innovative solutions and dynamic responses to service based bids
  • Writing, editing, review and management of bid content
  • Liaise with bid management, business development and operational teams and other key stakeholders to anticipate and prepare for tender opportunities
  • Ensuring appropriate bid team support is identified and allocating duties to ensure the bid reflects the clients way
  • In line with planned bid life cycle process ensure all project milestones are met
  • Coordinate the review of completed tenders to ensure quality, management of risk and compliance with company requirements
  • Meet deadlines and quality expectations in document preparation and bid submission
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Keeping abreast of all trends in the area of pitching and tender responses

Providing reports and analysis as required

A bit about you

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role with demonstrated experience in bid coordination and management
  • Bid writing, graphic design and co-ordination experience on large complex bids within contract catering and soft services industry an advantage
  • Experience working on a range of opportunities (EOIs, RFTs, etc) is desirable
  • Proven experience in writing successful proposals with excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge and experience in the overall Microsoft suite including InDesign
  • An ability to multi-task and have an eye for detail, quality and presentation standards
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with multiple stakeholders (internal & external) with the ability to interface credibly with peers
  • Enthusiasm and drive to innovate and learn
