ESS provides a home away from home for people working in remote mining villages. ESS manages all aspects of large-scale accommodation facilities or “villages” for remote workers, providing the essential comforts such as a hot meal, a clean bed, freshly laundered workwear to health and wellness facilities for those working away from home.
The Position
• Work collaboratively with a team of Chefs, Kitchen Utilities and Dining Room employees
• Buffet style bulk cooking for Breakfast and Crib Lunch, or Dinner and Desserts
• Ensure OH&S compliance, adhering to safe work practices and food handling procedures
• Ensure all catering controls are in place, and wastage is kept to the minimum
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, infection control and cleanliness in accordance with Compass standards
• Assist Head Chefs in managing team performance and employee development
The Person
• Chef Qualifications and Cert III in Commercial Cookery (min)
• Bulk Catering Experience
• Excellent knowledge of all kitchen procedures and operations
• Experience in menu writing, rostering and cost control
• Experience with hygienic work practices and appropriate HACCP guidelines
• Essential: Must have valid manual driver’s license, and valid First Aid / CPR would be advantageous.
We currently have many sites and locations that re in need of both Full Time and Casual Chefs, working various roster arrangements, fulfilling various shifts, across numerous remote villages within our Queensland Port Folio’s.
