The Position

We are currently seeking applications from experienced Safety Managers to work on a Part Time basis from our Perth Office with frequent travel to sites. The role leads a team of safety professionals aligned with Our Safety Culture by developing and maintaining a safety leadership programme and approach across all levels of the business from team members at site to members of the Australian Leadership Team. Key Duties 

  • Coach senior leaders in their safety behaviours and programs to drive safe operations improvement owned by operational leaders;
  • Drive compliance to the food safety programmes and procedures to ensure the highest standard of food integrity to our customers;
  • Drive and maintain processes for identifying, assessing, managing and recording hazards and risks;
  • Assist in the investigation of incidents to drive a rigorous approach to root cause identification and close out of corrective actions, and ensure relevant details are up to date in CHESS;
  • Oversee the audit compliance to the Compass Group standards and HSEQ Management System including relevant OR business requirements consistent with both the National Health and Safety and OR business-specific Health and Safety Plans;
  • Support and maintain company certification to Australian and International standards in accordance with the external HSEQ audit programme;
  • Conduct training within the sector in the company agreed training course including Safety Essentials (SE) and any other approved training courses as are available from time to time;
  • Review, establish and maintain procedures for environmental management within the business that are closely aligned with the company’s accredited Environmental Management System (EMS)
  • Interact with clients to demonstrate to them how the company’s operations and programmes effectively manage their risk and add commercial value to their operations and business strategy

The Person

  • Demonstrated experience implementing and monitoring HSEQ programmes in a multi-service environment;
  • Degree/Diploma in relevant field and/or Certificate IV Work Health and Safety;
  • Experience in managing inter-relationships across the company and stakeholders including clients and other relevant industry associations and bodies.
  • Detailed knowledge of HACCP procedures;
  • Proven years track record in leading and improving safe operations including a demonstrated capability in influencing senior leaders of the business to implement the company’s HSEQ standards and procedures
  • Available and willing to work part time (20) hours per week
