The Position

During a period of growth, we are seeking a motivated, experienced, and driven Safety Projects Coordinator with proven experience in Safety to join our national project team. Working as a key member of the project delivery team you will support, mentor, and engage with team members and project stakeholders to provide positive safety outcomes across our safety programs.

The role is hands on and requires someone with the ability to quickly build relationships with various stakeholders and work across a highly diverse business to achieve success.

Key Duties 

Reporting to the General Manager of Safety, this role works collaboratively with the Operational Leaders across all business units to drive ongoing and sustainable improvement in our safety performance. Your responsibilities will include:

• Championing the implementation of our safety programs
• The ability to develop standards and a standardised process
• Coaching senior leaders in their safety behaviours and programs to drive safe operational improvement
• Assisting in the investigation of incidents to drive a rigorous approach to root cause identification and close out of corrective actions
• Undertaking verification activities, inspections, and reviews to identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Engaging with team members and facilitate risk assessments and activity planning, ensuring that HSEQ is considered at all stages of the project lifecycles.
• Delivering internal training as needed and or in relation to implementation of new projects and or change in processes.

The Person

• Relevant safety qualification
• Demonstrated capability in influencing key stakeholders to implement the company’s HSEQ standards and procedures
• Skilled in developing guiding procedures, tools and materials to support planning and safe execution of work.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, web-based software applications and a high level of computer literacy in general
