Omega Security are currently recruiting for a Full Time Security Team Leader to join our dynamic security team at the Queensland Children’s Hospital on an 24/7 rotating roster.

Omega have supported the Queensland Children’s Hospital to deliver services for sick kids and will continue to support the children, families and staff who are visiting the Hospital each day.

The Position

  • Reporting to the Security Manager and overseeing security team, our Security Team Leader plays a vital part in the day to day operations of the Hospital.
  • You will be interacting with children, families, contractors and staff and these interactions will range from simple assistance with navigation throughout the Hospital, right through to responding to serious incidents.
  • As such, our ideal candidate will be experienced, warm and empathetic, provide exemplary customer service and can think outside the box.

The Person

  • Warm and empathetic nature with a strong customer service focus and the ability to manage a variety of high-pressure situations.
  • Extensive experience working within the security industry with previous experience working within a Hospital environment highly regarded.
  • A leader with previous experience working as a Team Leader/Supervisor is highly regarded.
  • Ability to think outside of the box and problem solve.
  • Strong computer literacy and report writing skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Certificate III (or above) in Security Operations
  • Current QLD Security Officers (Unarmed, Monitoring, Crowd Controller) Licence
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
  • Up to date Vaccinations of Preventable Diseases or evidence of current schedule as outlines by Children's Health

Key Duties

  • Direct leadership & supervision of security staff on shift
  • Providing exemplary customer service to patients, families, contractors, and staff
  • Patrolling and monitoring Hospital facilities including infrastructure, grounds, and car parks
  • Managing and reporting incidents and hazards and generally upholding our safety culture
  • Compiling daily logs and conducting appropriate handovers
  • Compiling periodic audit and ad hoc reports
  • Providing first aid where necessary
