In a period of business transformation, we are seeking applications for a Senior Business Intelligence Developer on ab 18-months fixed term contract. You will be responsible for deriving actionable insights from the data that our organisation generates. You will have a good sense of what data to collect and have a solid process for carrying out effective data analyses. You will have a strong foundation in topic such as statistics, operations research well as database skills in order to retrieve, clean and process data from a variety of sources.

The Position

As a primary liaison with our BI team, you will be required to;

  • Formulate techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data and confidentiality of data
  • Conduct full lifecycle analysis to include requirements, activities and design
  • Develop data marts for the line of business to self-service BI reporting
  • Develop analysis and reporting capabilities
  • Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide reports
  • Acquire data from primary and secondary data sources and maintain databases
  • Work in collaboration with stakeholders to prioritize business and information needs
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
  • Provide consultancy to business stakeholders to understand their problems (solving business problems through data and analytics, new reporting requirements, trending requirements, etc) and identify data solutions to address
  • Generate and deliver quality reports to customers and performing quality assurance checks on reports
  • Conduct technical requirements gathering process for data availability and data source
  • Identify gaps where data is not available
  • Support others in the daily use of data systems and ensure adherence to legal and company standards
  • Assist with reports and data extraction when needed
  • Monitor and analyse information and data systems and evaluate their performance to discover ways of enhancing them
  • Troubleshoot data-related problems and authorise modifications and maintenance
  • Provide support of the current BI Environment, (Tableau Server – Test / Production)
  • Provide level 3 Tableau Support for Business Units and Developers within the business.
  • Provide Supervision to the offshore support team, ensuring they are meeting KPIs

The Person

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in with AWS specifically Redshift, Tableau Server & Tableau Desktop, as well as the following skills & attributes;

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in IT or equivalent experience
  • Strong technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation technique
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages, databases, programming
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing datasets
  • Knowledge of SQL server database environment and SQL tools
  • Experience developing BI Reporting and Dashboard
  • Demonstrated ability to work with Service Provider teams and accomplish the project requirements in a mixed environment
  • Experience in scripting language (R, Python)
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure)
