The Position

We are seeking applications for a Senior Safety Leader to work collaboratively with our remote site teams to drive ongoing and sustainable improvement in our safety performance. This role leads a team of safety professionals aligned with Our Safety Culture by developing and maintaining a safety leadership program and approach across all levels of the business from team members at site to members of our Australian Leadership Team.  The Senior Safety Leader will provide specialist technical advice and coaching resources to the operations and shared services teams to assist in developing a culture characterised by care, respect and accountability for performance.

Key Duties 

Reporting to the National Manager of Safety, this role works collaboratively with the Operational Leaders across our remote business units to drive ongoing and sustainable improvement in our safety performance.  Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coaching senior leaders in their safety behaviours and programs to drive safe operational improvement
  • Driving compliance of food safety programs and procedures to ensure the highest standard of food integrity to our customers
  • Driving and maintaining processes for identifying, assessing, managing and recording hazards and risks
  • Assisting in the investigation of incidents to drive a rigorous approach to root cause identification and close out of corrective actions
  • Reviewing, establishing and maintaining procedures for environmental management within the business that are closely aligned with the company’s accredited Environmental Management System
  • Interacting with clients to demonstrate to them how the company’s operations and programs effectively manage their risk and add commercial value to their operations and business strategy

The Person

  • Demonstrated experience implementing and monitoring HSEQ programs in a multi-service environment
  • Tertiary qualified in a relevant field
  • Experience in managing inter-relationships across stakeholders, clients and other relevant industry associations
  • Demonstrated capability in influencing key stakeholders to implement the company’s HSEQ standards and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and monitoring HSEQ programs in a multi-service environment
  • Detailed knowledge of applicable legislation and ISO standards
  • Detailed knowledge of HACCP procedures
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, web-based software applications and a high level of computer literacy in general
  • Experience in managing inter-relationships across the company and stakeholders including clients and other relevant industry associations and bodies.
