ESS is the market leading support services division of Compass Group, providing multi-service capability to major companies operating in the resources and defence sectors. The full spectrum of services offered ranges from the design and build of camp structures to operational support in catering, housekeeping, technical services and logistics.

The Position

You'll be responsible for bringing the Compass Group Vision and Values to life as you organise and manage the contract in accordance with the agreed standards.  You'll be expected to deliver great quality services to meet client expectations, and you'll be responsible for the management, development and training of all team members.

Key Duties

  • Develop and maintain effective long term business relationships
  • Take responsibility and ownership for client issues
  • Manage payment terms and cash flow, including accurate and timely billing
  • Identify and create new business opportunities
  • Understand the scope of work required, including the contract terms and conditions
  • Manage requests for additional (non-contracted) services effectively
  • Establish, maintain and monitor quality customer service practices
  • Effectively manage the cost of goods and/or food
  • Manage finances within a budget 
  • Lead and manage an effective team
  • Promote and maintain Our Safety Culture

The Person

  • Single site operational experience in a similar role within the Hospitality industry
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to manage a budget
  • Ability to form productive client relationships
  • Proven experience in managing successful teams
  • Working knowledge of workplace regulations, including award and agreement requirements
  • Ability to identify new business opportunities
  • Computer literacy
  • Business or degree qualifications would be well-regarded
  • Good understanding of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment issues
  • Ability to work a 2:1 roster
