Working as a sous chef at Melbourne Zoo's production kitchen is an exciting adventure, blending culinary creativity with wildlife magic. The Position
Lead and manage the production kitchen to ensure smooth operations across all shifts.
Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food according to recipes, quality standards, and food safety regulations.
Ensure all food products meet quality specifications and are produced within budgeted food costs.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety within the kitchen environment.
Provide effective team leadership and manage kitchen staff to ensure consistent performance.
Monitor and improve kitchen processes to enhance efficiency and product quality.
The Person
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
Prior experience in a similar culinary environment
Ability to work under pressure with professionalism and positivity
Team player who can also work independently
Flexible, reliable, and physically fit
Strong communication skills and hardworking attitude
