The Opportunity

We are currently seeking applications from experienced Sous Chef's or Senior Chef's to join our culinary teams based on a high profile university within inner west Sydney CBD. You'll be working in a busy, fast paced kitchen environment serving high volume, quality meals to students, teachers and support staff.

With supportive & motivational leaders in place, you'll be part of a larger team providing a varied, healthy & delicious menu to our customers. Health and well-being is paramount but our expectations are you'll also be delivering an exceptionally high level of customer service to all those you work with & serve. 

Your key duties:

• Preparing buffet style bulk cooking for students
• Work with a team of Chefs, kitchen utilities and dining room employees to deliver exceptional quality and service
• Ensuring all OH&S compliance is achieved, adhere to safe work practices and safe food handling procedures
• Ensure all catering controls are in place and wastage is kept to the minimum
• Offer guidance and support to the wider kitchen team where needed, to ensure a great experience for all customers

A bit about you:

• You will be a qualified Chef with Cert III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
• Sound HACCP knowledge and experience
• Previous experience at Sous Chef or senior Chef level in bulk cooking is essential. You will have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Be a team player, but also be able to work autonomously
• Attention to detail and great time management is a must
• Excellent knowledge of all kitchen procedures and operations
• Flexible and adaptive nature, able to fit in with changing teams
