THE POSITION

• Manage the collection, sorting, and disposal of general, clinical, and hazardous waste in line with hospital protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Operate waste equipment safely and maintain clean, hygienic waste areas including bins, rooms, and disposal points.
• Support waste audits, sustainability initiatives, and continuous improvement in waste management practices.
• Coordinate waste logistics including bin washing, carousel and chute systems, and subcontractor collections.
• Maintain accurate records, follow infection control procedures, and collaborate with hospital teams to ensure safe, efficient operations.

THE PERSON

• Experience in waste management or environmental services (healthcare experience highly regarded).
• Knowledge of waste handling practices and infection control protocols.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and compliance standards.
• Ability to work independently, manage physical tasks, and meet operational schedules.
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach.
