The Position 

In this role as Work Health Manager, you will report to the National Manager – Work Health, and work more broadly as part of the Compass Care team. We are a team of highly motivated, performance-driven Allied Health and Workers Compensation professionals. Your role will be to support multiple business sectors (Offshore and Remote; Aged Care; Business and Industry; Venues & Events; Education; Hospitals; Defence; Facilities Management; and Security) in the areas of Injury Management and Pre-Employment Screening services, while assisting the National Manager – Work Health, in streamlining systems and processes, and leading a team of work health advisors to meet their objectives. This is an ideal opportunity for you to utilise your leadership and coaching skills, working within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This position is a full time permanent role, based in Sydney. 

Key Duties

  • Lead a team of allied health professionals in meeting key Business objectives
  • Continuously improve and streamline systems and processes to promote efficiency and success
  • Strategic case management of workers compensation claims and fitness for work cases to drive timely return to work outcomes
  • Conduct pre-employment screening services
  • Conduct functional capacity assessments where required
  • Drive positive safe deployment outcomes through the development of appropriate risk management strategies
  • Build strong relationships and manage service providers
  • Coach and mentor internal stakeholders
  • Facilitate system and legislative compliance
  • Assist in the development and implementation of nationwide initiatives and projects to reduce impact of injuries

The Person 

  • Allied Health Qualification and associated registration (preferably OT, Physio)
  • 5 years minimum experience as a rehabilitation consultant, injury management advisor or similar, inclusive of demonstrated Management or Leadership experience
  • Sound knowledge of workers compensation, injury management and workplace rehabilitation
  • Outcome focused, self-motivated and proactive with a desire to make a difference 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a strong team
  • Ability to learn new systems and work efficiently to deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Possess good communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Detail-oriented, well-organised and effective time management skills
