DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION
COMPASS GROUP BELIEVE DIVERSE PERSPECTIVES DRIVE INNOVATION AND BETTER OUTCOMES FOR EVERYONE.
As an equal opportunity employer, our team reflects the communities we serve, and we’re committed to building a workplace where people of all backgrounds, ages, abilities, and orientations can thrive.
This commitment is embedded in our Diversity and Inclusion strategy, which focuses on five key areas: First Nations, Disability, Gender Equity, Pride, and Veterans. Through these pillars, we ensure everyone has equal access to opportunities, resources, and recognition.
OUR PILLARS
FIRST NATIONS
Our reconciliation journey is grounded in a profound respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia’s First Nations. As an organisation operating across the country, we recognise that this reach brings both privilege and responsibility. We are committed to strengthening community connections, honouring cultural traditions, and working in genuine partnership to deliver initiatives that create meaningful opportunities. Through these efforts, we aim not only to support individuals and communities but also to contribute to broader social change and help close the gap for future generations.
DISABILITY
With one in five Australians living with disability, creating accessible and inclusive workplaces is both a responsibility and an opportunity. We are committed to ensuring every individual can thrive by focusing on employment, training, and career development, supported by our Disability Confidence Training program.
This empowers our leaders to build a disability-confident workforce and foster workplaces that are accessible, equitable, and safe. Our commitment has been recognised through awards including the National Disability Award (Employer Category), MAX Solutions’ Employer of the Year, the Max Large Employer Award, and the MAX Employment National Employer of the Year.
GENDER EQUITY
As an equal opportunity employer, Compass Group is committed to pay equity, workplace flexibility, and building a strong pipeline of women into senior leadership roles. Our IGNITE program equips high-potential women with training, mentoring, and networks to accelerate their careers, with 41% of participants progressing within their first year.
Through our Launch into Work initiative, funded by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, we support women job seekers with pre-employment programs. These include resilience and workplace standards training, accredited hospitality courses with vocational placements, and up to 26 weeks of mentoring post-employment.
PRIDE
Compass Group is committed to creating a workplace where everyone can bring their whole selves to work and feel safe, respected, and supported.
As members of Pride in Diversity, our employee-led ‘PRIDE in Compass’ working group partners with LGBTQ+ team members and allies to shape our inclusion strategy. They implement best practices tailored to our workforce and foster meaningful connections within our communities.
Through ongoing conversations, awareness events, and our Pride Champion ally network, we continue to build a safe, inclusive workplace that celebrates diversity and reflects the communities we serve.
VETERANS
Compass Group is committed to supporting current and former Australian Defence Force personnel and their families by providing meaningful civilian employment opportunities.
We recognise the valuable skills Veterans and ADF members bring from their service and offer structured support and mentoring programs to ease their transition into new career pathways.
Our leaders receive specialised training to better support this unique workforce.
As part of the Prime Minister’s Veteran Employment Program and through our Gold Pledge partnership with Soldier On, we work closely with RSL Australia and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs to deliver career transition support and ongoing employment opportunities that meet the needs of Defence families.
MEET OUR PEOPLE
We’re proud to celebrate the diversity that makes our business stronger. From First Nations peoples to those championing gender equality, accessibility, veterans’ experiences, and the LGBTQIA+ community, our team brings unique perspectives that fuel creativity and innovation. Their voices, stories, and insights shape our culture and help us deliver authentic, respectful experiences every day.
