The position

Reporting to the Manager - Accounts Payable, this is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a high-performing Finance team. Partnering closely with Procurement, Finance, and operational stakeholders, you will oversee the end-to-end Accounts Payable function and manage CGA's business expense system, ensuring efficient and accurate financial operations.

Beyond core Accounts Payable responsibilities, you'll contribute to the development of meaningful reporting, performance metrics, and business insights that support decision-making and drive continuous improvement across the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process. This role offers the opportunity to combine operational excellence, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement while making a tangible impact on the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable team
  • Oversee the AP service desk, including MyService queries and AP Connect
  • Act as the primary escalation point for suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Manage Converga, our paperless Accounts Payable system
  • Maintain supplier records, including onboarding, updates, rebates, payment terms and cost centre management
  • Manage Accounts Payable reconciliations and payment processes
  • Process manual supplier payments and employee expense claims
  • Ensure supplier payments are made accurately and in line with agreed payment terms
  • Oversee business expense systems, including SAP Concur and AppZen auditing
  • Support internal and external audit requirements
  • Prepare Accounts Payable and business expense reporting for management
  • Coach, mentor and develop a team of 3 Accounts Payable professionals
  • Support the Accounts Payable Manager with key projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • People & Culture
    • Build strong relationships across Finance, Procurement and Operations to support business success
    • Partner with stakeholders to deliver excellent customer service and operational outcomes
    • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture focused on continuous improvement
    • Support business objectives through effective stakeholder engagement and problem-solving

About you

  • Experience in Team Lead role, preferably Accounts Payable with focus on operational and process improvements
  • Ability to document procedures and train and develop team members in Accounts Payable tasks
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong preference for experience in Converga and SAP Concur
  • Intermediate skills using the Microsoft Office Suite (excel)
  • Demonstrated customer service approach
  • Proactive, hardworking attitude and a high level of accountability
  • Strong teamwork and an emphasis on striving for continuous improvements
