We provide vital workplace support for people working in some of the most isolated terrains in the world, from oil rigs in the North Sea to gold mines in the Australian Outback. 

We have a rare opportunity for an aspiring Apprentice Chef to join Phosphate Hill, FIFO ex. Townsville, 12 hour shifts. This opportunity would allow you the ability to earn whilst gaining your Cert III in Commercial Cookery. In this role you would be supported by some of our best Culinary Leaders, all whilst working with a global leader in catering & support services. 

The Position 

  • You will be trained and mentored by an exceptional team of highly qualified Chefs who have developed their passion for food all over the world 
  • You will be exposed to cooking in Production Kitchens, learning the skills and techniques to deliver high quality food across a variety of styles of cuisine 
  • You will work to obtain a nationally recognised trade qualification, a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery 
  • You will receive competitive remuneration and enjoy working with a stable, and growing organisation 

The Person 

  • We would expect you to have a genuine interest in all things culinary and be a real “foodie”. 
  • You will have hospitality experience, preferably in a fast-paced, bulk style cooking environment 
  • You can work under pressure and to tight deadlines 
  • You are reliable, hardworking, resilient and can follow instructions 
  • You have the capacity & willingness to commit to additional study outside of work hours
  • An Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
