We are seeking dedicated and reliable Gym Attendant to join our team supporting the Australian Defence Force through our ESS business. In this front-line role, you’ll be the welcoming face of the gym ensuring a safe, professional, and engaging environment for Defence personnel. You’ll manage daily reception duties, conduct fitness inductions, and help maintain the facility to the highest standards.  

 

Role location:  

• Lavarack Barracks

Your responsibilities will include:       

• Greet and assist gym users, providing exceptional customer service and support  
• Conduct fitness centre inductions and maintain accurate user records  
• Oversee daily operations, including equipment checks and general maintenance reporting  
• Ensure compliance with all safety and hygiene procedures  
• Support the coordination of fitness activities, programs, and events  
• Contribute to a clean, safe, and welcoming facility environment  
• Report hazards, near misses, or maintenance issues promptly and constructively  

What we’re looking for: 

• Current First Aid and CPR certification  
• Certificate III or IV in Fitness (highly desirable) 
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills  
• Reliable, professional, and proactive approach to customer service  
• Experience in gym or recreation facility operations highly regarded  
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and team collaboration  
• Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check and Defence clearance  
• Australian Citizenship is a mandatory requirement (Defence security clearance required)
