The Role

We have an exciting full-time opportunity for an Employee Relations / Industrial Relations Business Partner to join our National People Team.

You will be exposed to a broad range of employee and industrial relations matters, including industrial instrument compliance, policy development, enterprise agreement negotiations, and dispute resolution.

This is a fast‑paced, varied role suited to someone who enjoys true business partnering, working closely with stakeholders and making a tangible impact across our business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading enterprise agreement negotiations with employee representatives, unions, and other key stakeholders.
  • Acting as a trusted subject matter expert on ER/IR matters, providing clear, practical advice across a wide range of issues.
  • Building strong, collaborative relationships across the People Team, Operations, and broader stakeholder groups.
  • Leading ER/IR‑related projects and contributing to strategy aligned to business needs.
  • Monitoring and advising on changes to industrial legislation, regulations, and best practice to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Supporting HR Services, HR Managers, and operational leaders through the development of standardised ER tools, systems, and processes.
  • Providing ER/IR input into bid and tender documentation as required.
  • Supporting the Employee Relations Manager in matters before the Fair Work Commission and other relevant jurisdictions.
  • Collating, preparing, and analysing employee‑related data to support People Team initiatives and projects.

The Person

You will bring strong technical capability combined with a practical, solutions‑focused mindset. You will be comfortable working autonomously while also thriving in a collaborative team environment.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or Business Law.
  • Demonstrated experience in a specialist Employee Relations / Industrial Relations role.
  • Exposure to contractual and commercial environments.
  • Proven experience dealing with unions and negotiating enterprise agreements.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational capability.
  • A flexible, adaptable approach and a willingness to operate in a dynamic environment.
