THE POSITION

• Oversee kitchen activities and staff in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
• Create and serve high-quality dishes that meet our standards and delight our customers, residents, and clients.
• Manage inventory by accepting deliveries, properly storing ingredients, and ensuring the kitchen is well-stocked.
• Keep the kitchen and all equipment clean, organised, and in good working condition.
• Implement effective catering management practices to minimise waste and maximise efficiency.
• Work closely with team members and interact positively with residents to enhance their dining experience.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations to create a safe working environment.
• Uphold and encourage our culture of safety within the kitchen and the broader team.
• Ensure all food is prepared, stored, and served following strict food safety guidelines.

THE PERSON

• Hold a minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
• Have previous experience cooking in a similar environment is essential 
• Have ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive outlook and professional manner 
• Have a good understanding of operating a catering operation within strict budgetary constraints
• Police Check holder (or be willing to obtain a police check prior to employment)
