THE POSITION

• Independent position in a fast-paced, small cafe serving around 100 customers daily.
• Supporting and supervising the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food, ensuring that all dishes, including menu items and daily specials, meet exceptional standards.
• Maintaining a strong focus on nutrition and promoting healthy eating practices.
• Advocating for allergy awareness and ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
• Managing food costs through portion control, waste reduction, and inventory management.
• Guaranteeing the safe preparation of high-quality dishes, always in compliance with food safety guidelines.

THE PERSON

• Chef Trade Qualifications.
• Familiarity with café-style cuisine is beneficial.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, organised environment.
• In-depth knowledge of kitchen operations and current food trends.
• Exceptional attention to detail and effective communication skills with both junior and senior staff.
• Practical understanding and enthusiasm for OHS, Food Safety, and HACCP regulations.
• Able to work within budget and proficient with POS systems.
