We are currently seeking a Cleaner / Administration Assistant to work at the Newcastle Mater Hospital. You’ll work as part of our supportive cleaning team to ensure the cleanliness of the hospital whilst providing genuine service and care to the patients, staff and visitors within the hospital.

THE POSITION

  • Providing general administrative support as required (such as filing, completing mark up for audits, covering shifts when staff call in sick)
  • Providing professional customer service
  • This casual opportunity is a Monday to Friday role working a 38 hour week
  • General hospital cleaning duties as required such as public area and ward cleaning, collection of waste
  • Receiving requests to assist with urgent cleans or additional tasks around the hospital
  • Use of cleaning machines
  • Washing of external surfaces and furniture

THE PERSON

  • An excellent eye for detail and well presented
  • Experience in an administrative role working with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint) and experience with working with an I-pad 
  • You’re able to work on your own but also within a team environment
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and apply safe work practices
  • Experience within a hospital or aged care cleaning environment as a team leader will be highly regarded however, we are happy to provide extra training for applicants that are reliable and wish to learn
