The Position

  • Responsible for compliance of the current services contract in a complex Hospital environment
  • Manage building, engineering and maintenance services relating to strategic planning and operational facilities management: including Engineering, Construction, Installation and Maintenance practices
  • Lead a team of approximately five and report directly into the Manager of Hard FM Operations.
  • Ensure continuity of all Building and Engineering services in this complex environment
  • Preventative, Corrective and Reactive Maintenance contract and trades management
  • Drive WHS compliance and best practice across the business and the team to ensure safe work practices/
  • Develop and maintain a maintenance schedule, ensuring that all required preventative maintenance is undertaken for current and new assets.
  • Manage stock/equipment purchases within a budget
  • Oversight of boilers, air-conditioning equipment, diesel engines, turbines, pumps, condensers, generators, and compressors.

The Person

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar management role in either a FM, Defence Garrison, Aerospace, Pharma or Hospitality environment
  • A solid understanding of HVAC, HV & LV, plumbing, carpentry, generator control system, UPS systems, BMS and energy management
  • Well versed in all maintenance process and workplace health and safety regulations
  • Current driver’s license
  • Strong computer skills (Excel and Word)
  • Background working with CMMS systems
  • Corporate membership of Engineers Australia is desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a similar technical discipline is desirable but not essential 
  • On top of all your technical skills, you will need to be a “people person,” as at the heart of what we do, it is all about providing care to sick children and providing a clean, safe and maintained environment
