ESS provides multi-service capability to major companies and organisations operating in remote sites, gold mines and coal fields. The Position:

We are looking for experienced Cleaners and Kitchenhands to join our team on Curtis Island, starting in early April. You’ll be part of a supportive, professional crew that values safety, teamwork, and creating a positive work environment.

As part of the role, the ferry is paid for by us, you will also receive a free lunch on site, and the cost of medicals, training, and uniforms is covered by the company.

Industrial Cleaner responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Cleaning offices, toilet blocks, tea shacks, and crib huts; completing rubbish collection and removal; restocking supplies; and handling chemicals in accordance with safety standards.

Kitchenhand responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Preparing sandwiches, salads, and basic food items; cleaning the kitchen and equipment; completing dish and pot washing; managing rubbish removal; restocking food and drink items; mopping, scrubbing, and general floor maintenance; unloading stock; cleaning dining rooms and bar areas; operating tills; serving drinks; and handling chemicals safely.

The Person:

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have previous cleaning and/or catering experience
• Hold a current White Card
• Be physically fit and able to pass a pre‑employment functional assessment and drug & alcohol screen
• Be able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
• Hold a current driver’s licence and have transport to reach the daily ferry
• Be a Gladstone local
