ESS, part of Compass Group, provides integrated hospitality and support services to the Australian Defence Force across Australia. We’re currently seeking energetic and customer-focused Gym Attendants to join our Sport and Recreation team at HMAS Kuttabul. In this front-line role, you’ll be the welcoming face of the gym ensuring a safe, professional, and engaging environment for Defence personnel. You’ll manage daily reception duties, conduct fitness inductions, and help maintain the facility to the highest standards. 

What we are looking for:

Key Responsibilities 

• Greet and assist gym users, providing exceptional customer service and support. 
• Conduct fitness centre inductions and maintain accurate user records. 
• Oversee daily operations, including equipment checks and general maintenance reporting. 
• Ensure compliance with all safety and hygiene procedures. 
• Support the coordination of fitness activities, programs, and events. 
• Contribute to a clean, safe, and welcoming facility environment. 
• Report hazards, near misses, or maintenance issues promptly and constructively.

What we’re looking for 

• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Cert III or IV in Fitness (Highly desirable)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
• Reliable, professional, and proactive approach to customer service. 
• Experience in gym or recreation facility operations highly regarded. 
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and team collaboration.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check and Defence clearance. 
• Australian Citizenship is a mandatory requirement.
