Salary: $95,000 – $120,000 + Superannuation

ESS provides multi-service capability to major companies and organisations operating in remote sites, gold mines and coal fields. We provide vital workplace support for people working some of the most isolated terrains in the world, from oil rigs in the North Sea to gold mines in the Australian Outback.

We are seeking motivated and experienced line chefs, chef supervisors and head chefs to join our support services team in Karratha.

This is a full time role and you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your culinary skills in a dynamic environment.

The Role

• Prepare and cook dishes buffet style across all sections whilst adhering to dietary standards and guest preferences
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace, following food safety and hygiene protocols
• Collaborate with culinary staff and adapt to different situations in the kitchen while consistently delivering exceptional service
• Take charge of kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and service
• Guide your team, develop menus, and create inclusive dining environments that support people working in remote areas
• Maximise stock utilisation and maintain cost‑effective operation
• Liaise with stakeholders on a regular basis to constantly improve day-today service

The Person

• Have full working rights in Australia
• Must hold a Certificate in Commercial Cookery or Trade Certificate
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a commercial kitchen
• Proficient computer skills for planning and reporting
• Able to pass pre‑employment medical, drug and alcohol screening, and national police clearance
